After breakfast some of the guys led by Yury Yudin, our well-known geologist, went to the core storage, hoping to collect some materials for the collection. Nothing except pyrite and veins of quartz in breeds was found there. We gathered long: we oiled skis, adjusted bindings, Yurka Yudin was going back home today....

The weather was good, the wind was supposed to blow at our backs along the way. The guys agreed that a horse would take the bales to Severny 2. It was 24 km from 41st to it. We slept in a so-called “hotel”. We slept on bunks of two, and Sasha K. and Yura Krivo even on the floor between the bunks. We got up at about 9 am. We all slept well, despite the fact that in the evening we did not close the latch and it got a little cold in the morning. It was -17°C outside. We did not cook in the morning, the wood was raw, in the evening about 6 hours had passed while we cooked....

We got up at half past six, got ready quickly, and left for Ivdel with the first bus. After an hour of waiting we managed to grab a bus (GAZ-51 type). The twenty-five-seat bus had to accommodate the full twenty-five and plus twenty backpacks, stuffed to the brim and the same number of pairs of skis. It came to the ceiling. The bottom people sat on the seats, on the pile of skis, on the backpacks....
